The courses offered in Polytechnic help the students to secure jobs in technical fields. The eligibility criteria for the admission to these courses are given below:

Eligibility for Admission

Minimum marks for admission

• Not less than 50% for mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together and not less than 40% separately for mathematics and 40% for Physics and Chemistry put together

• Socially and educationally backward communities 45% and 40% respectively as indicated above

• SC/ST, orphans from recognized orphanages and physically handicapped student:- there is no restriction no minimum marks, a pass in SSLC will be sufficient

• For THSLC candidates while calculating the % of marks for Physics and chemistry or the purpose or clause above marks out of 50 for physics and marks out of 50 chemistry is to be added to calculate the percentage

• For CBSC/ICSE candidates marks obtained in Science is considered in place of physics and chemistry

• Those who have taken more than two chances for qualifying examination (SSLC or equivalent) are not eligible for admission Appearance for “betterment” will not be considered as a separate chance for this purpose. In case of candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations in the second chance 5 marks will be derated for determining their rank for effecting admission
